This Privacy Policy explains how ORN ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using ORN, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
- Profile details: profile photo, bio, and any optional details you add.
- Content you create: posts, polls, comments, confessions, group activity, marketplace listings, and messages.
- Usage data: likes, votes, views, and activity needed to operate features such as the feed and leaderboard.
- Device tokens: push-notification tokens so we can send you notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account and verify your email (via a one-time code).
- To display your posts, profile, and activity to other members of the community.
- To send notifications you have enabled (e.g. messages, approvals, announcements).
- To moderate content and keep the community safe.
- Administrators may review content and messages where necessary for moderation, safety, and to enforce our Terms.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions). Verification and notification emails are sent from our own domain. We rely on Google's infrastructure and industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Content you post (name, profile photo, posts, comments) is visible to other signed-in members of the community. We may share data only where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Your Choices & Rights
- You can edit your profile information at any time in the app.
- You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and the content you created (posts, comments, listings, groups you own, etc.).
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
ORN is intended for students. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
